Chieke Properties: The Website Is Gone. Here Is What Can Still Be Checked
The website of Chieke Properties is gone. As of 14 September 2026, the domain chiekeproperties.com does not resolve at all, returning no address from public DNS. An archived capture from August 2025 already showed a domain parking page rather than the company's site. Meanwhile, a recruitment advertisement for a sales executive at Chieke Properties was posted on a Nigerian jobs board on 4 September 2026.
Those facts sit oddly together, and no source found in this research explains them. A lapsed domain renewal would account for the first and say nothing about whether the business is trading. That is genuinely all that can be concluded. What follows is a survey of what remains verifiable about the Enugu firm, and there is less of it than the company's own former marketing suggested.
Nothing in this article is an allegation. No regulator has made a finding about Chieke Properties, no court case naming the company was located, and no complaint from any identified buyer was found in any source.
What the company said about itself
The earliest archived version of the site, captured in 2023, traded as "Chieke properties and consultancy agency" and gave an address at No. 1 Ogbaru Street, Independent Layout, Enugu, with a Gmail contact address and an Instagram handle. By 2025 the branding had shortened to Chieke Properties, with a footer reading "© 2024 Chieke Properties™" and different phone numbers and an info@ email.
The later site stated: "Incorporated in 2019, Chieke Properties is a Real Estate Development Company." No RC number appears on any archived page of the site, and the word Limited or Ltd does not appear in the company's name anywhere in the archived material. That combination matters, because an incorporated Nigerian company limited by shares carries "Limited" in its registered name by law. A business may trade under a shorter brand, but the registered entity is the one that can hold title and be sued.
The Corporate Affairs Commission register could not be searched during this research. The public portal returned a Cloudflare interstitial and its API returned a server error. So no RC number, incorporation date or registered address was obtained from the registry. This is a failure to verify and nothing more. It is not evidence that the company is unregistered, and it should not be read that way.
One named project
Across every archived version of the site, exactly one project is named: an "Ijele terrace," described as a four-bedroom terrace duplex with two sitting rooms and a skylight, priced at 85 million naira. No location is given. No completion date is given. No status is given.
An earlier 2021 version of the site listed generic stock rather than developments: land and houses in Enugu and Lagos ranging from around 2 million to 77 million naira, tagged with title types including Certificate of Occupancy, Federal Allocation Paper and Deed of Assignment. That is the profile of an agency reselling other people's property, which is a different business from development and carries different risks.
The 2025 site also carried headline claims of being "trusted by 4,000+ companies," drawing on "3,264 reviews," with "10k+ properties listed." None of those figures were corroborated anywhere. They are the kind of numbers that ship inside website templates, and they are listed here only so that nobody mistakes them for a record.
Three people are named on the archived team page: Josemario Kenechukwu, Nzekwe Obiora and Ebele Otabor. No roles are stated for any of them. No director, shareholder, investor, bank, contractor or architect is named in any source located.
The press releases that were about another company
One thing on the archived site does need reporting carefully, because it bears directly on how much weight the rest of it can carry.
The site's news section carried an item announcing the appointment of a board chairman, headed with the Chieke Properties name and opening with the line that the company "has announced the appointment of Mr. Olumide Onakoya as Chairman of the Board."
That text is word for word identical to a sponsored article published by BusinessDay on 2 January 2024, more than a year before the Chieke capture, announcing the same appointment at a different and unrelated company, Veritasi Homes. The BusinessDay version reads "Veritasi Homes, a foremost real estate development company, has announced the appointment of Mr. Olumide Onakoya as Chairman of the Board." The only substantive difference between the two is the company name.
It is not the only item in that news section built this way.
Two points need stating flatly. First, the sourced appointment is to Veritasi Homes. No independent source links Olumide Onakoya to Chieke Properties in any capacity, and this article does not suggest one. Second, no source establishes who placed that text on chiekeproperties.com or why. Websites are built by agencies, by freelancers and by template resellers, and placeholder copy lifted from real articles is a known and often unremarkable failure of web production rather than a statement by a company's principals. It is reported here for one narrow reason: it means the news section of that site cannot be used as evidence of anything about Chieke Properties, including its board, its size or its track record.
What this leaves a buyer with
Strip out the unverifiable and the borrowed, and the durable public record for Chieke Properties consists of an Enugu street address from 2023, a set of contact numbers, three names without roles, one unpriced-in-time project, and a self-stated incorporation year with no registration number attached.
That is not enough to assess a developer, and it is not an unusual position for a small Nigerian property firm. Most of the 3,000-plus companies in this market have never filed anything a buyer can read. Nigeria licenses its architects and its engineers and does not license its property developers, so there is no register of good standing to consult and no body that can strike anyone off.
For anyone currently in a transaction with this company, or considering one, the checks are the ordinary ones and they are worth more than any website:
Get the full registered name and RC number in writing, then look it up yourself at the CAC. If no RC number is forthcoming, that is the answer to a different and more important question than anything on a homepage.
Verify title at the plot level at the Enugu State lands registry, in the vendor's name, and satisfy yourself that the instrument you are being offered is the one you think it is. A Deed of Assignment and a Certificate of Occupancy do very different work.
Insist on seeing something finished, at an address, and go there. For buyers arranging this from abroad, the sequence matters more than the speed, and the step-by-step process for buying from the diaspora sets out where the verification points fall.
Bektu (https://bektu.com) records developer delivery histories so this kind of comparison can be made across companies rather than one website at a time, and the Chieke Properties company page holds what is currently on file. If the company has documentation that fills in the registry and delivery gaps described here, that record can be updated.
